Eye Colour

I'm sure I read somewhere that Stargardt's or retinal eye conditions affect more blue eyed people than brown. I've tried to look up articles to see if my recollection can be validated, but I haven't been successful.

So just for a little experiment, I ask everybody who views this with Stargardt's or any other retinal condition to comment with their eye colour. Maybe we can discover something interesting!

I have dark brown eyes (and apparently the dark colour protect me from the sun). So what colour are your eyes?

  1. I have Stargardt's and have light brown eyes. I haven't heard anything about any particular color being affected more than others. Let me know if you find anything.

  7. Blue eyes. I noticed I had SD when I was 14-15. I'm now 35 and just lately have been getting more headaches due to this blurred vision (it's not too bad as it's just affecting one eye but the headaches are getting very disturbing more recently. If I nap or even close my eyes for a while the headaches fades. Anyone else with headaches? Advice?

  11. Myself and my father both have blue/green eyes, mine being more blue and my father's being a very rare shade of greenish blue (but not hazel) -- and we both have Stargardt's.

  12. I have eyes commonly referred to as black. My eyes are extremely dark brown. All of the other people who have had Stargardt's were blue or hazel eyed. I am also the only one in the family with severe light sensitivity, and perfect vision in the middle of my retina. I have what the doctor calls Classic Stargardt's and my mom's photos show the fundus in the middle of the macula as well, while my fundus looks like stars surrounding the middle.
